Families First
A self-development program for youth and their families from Homefirst Permanent Supportive Housing. The group fosters a supportive and caring environment and uses dramatic and creative arts as tools to develop self-esteem and good communication skills. Families First meets weekly throughout the school year with bi-monthly meetings for the whole family.
One Families First participant just graduated from Plainfield High School and is going on partial scholarship to Bloomfield College in NJ.
Another has been accepted into a nursing program.
Let’s Play
A once a week after school arts and crafts program offered to children from our emergency shelter and supportive housing programs.
Life Long Learners
Life skills workshops for adults from Homefirst transitional, permanent and supportive housing. Workshops include finance, nutrition and communication and offer enrichment opportunities.
One of the participants in Life Long Learner led a workshop at The Sixteenth Annual Morristown Women’s Festival in May.
A Homefirst tenant has just been hired full time by the Division of Recreation
in Plainfield.
