Our Transitional Housing Program moves families from Homelessness into a safe, stable home for a period of 12 months. Families also receive support services necessary to stabilize the family and assist them to move into permanent housing with the necessary skills to live independently. Permanent Supportive Housing is available to serve families and individuals who are living with a disability and who are also homeless. Those who live in these housing units are offered case management and a full array of support services. For more information please call (908) 755-2054.

The Homefirst Family Success Center is a community-based, family-centered neighborhood gathering place where any community resident can go for family support, information, and services. The Homefirst Organic Community Garden Program supplies clients and neighbors with the opportunity to obtain fresh, organic, local produce. Children and adult volunteers learn hands on the impact they can have on the environment and enjoy the fruits of their labor, while working to maintain the gardens.
Case Management is the infrastructure for delivering effective services that will facilitate positive growth and development in people and the achievement of personal goals. Individualized case management ensures clients work to find solutions to their particular obstacles. Case managers assist individuals in filing for appropriate government assistance, obtaining job skills, acquiring a stable housing solution and increasing self-determination.
Homefirst provides additional social services to individuals and families that offer support and enrichment activities. Rental and Utility assistance is offered to our community (908) 753-4001 x 16. Services for people living with HIV/AIDS are also available at Homefirst (908) 755-2054. These vital programs and services help ensure overall success by facilitating and building self-sufficiency skills, community, and a stronger sense of well being.

Outreach and Education: Homelessness and poverty are tragic issues that impact our society both directly and indirectly. Homefirst provides informational presentations and educational forums to youth and adult groups on these subjects and explains how our organization is working to combat homelessness in our community.
