Housing Tour

On several days each month, Homefirst welcomes all community members to join us for a tour of our housing.

All weekday tours start at 9:00 a.m. Saturday tours start at 10:00 a.m. We meet at our Family Success Center at 905 Watchung Avenue in Plainfield. The tours last approximately 1 hour.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about Homefirst by coming face-to-face with our mission and amazing programs.

Over coffee with our Executive Director and Board Host, we’ll give you facts and figures about homelessness and answer your questions. Hear the story of one of our residents and learn how her life was changed after she came to Homefirst for help. With our services and support, she was able to move into our safe, affordable housing and gain skills for independent living.

Housing Renovations:

Our newest project, located on Park Avenue in Plainfield, will add three units of Permanent Supportive Housing to our housing stock. In addition this property serves as office space for several of our staff and provides social service space and facilities for client and community activities. Volunteers will be given the opportunity to organize activities for families here; encouraging greater community participation.

Renovations began on the Park Avenue property in late 2009, and it opened in June. In order to give interested members of the community an opportunity to watch us expand, we have included this new property on our monthly house tours..
